Press Release

Gardens, both real and imagined, have been a subject and source of inspiration throughout art, from Ancient Egyptian tomb paintings and depictions of the Garden of Eden to Monet’s impressionist renderings of his gardens at Giverny, and beyond. Bridging physical, cultivated gardens, often the artist’s own, with conceptual, imaginary, or remembered spaces, Gardens: Real and Imagined presents a range of contemporary work inspired by gardens, and their harvest, floral and vegetable, in paintings, watercolors, textiles, and sculptures.
